In a world where educational innovation is more critical than ever, the collaboration between EDT&Partners, Ummia, and AWS stands out as a model for transformational success. With the shared goal of redefining teacher empowerment through cutting-edge technology, this alliance has culminated in a fully operational, scalable, and secure AI-powered platform that not only met—but exceeded—its ambitious objectives.

At the heart of this transformation was UMMIA, a pioneering AI-native platform designed to support teachers in lesson planning, provide real-time pedagogical assistance, and personalize educational strategies. The project’s priorities, led with remarkable clarity and dedication by the Ummia team, ensured alignment and momentum throughout the journey.

EDT&Partners brought its renowned expertise and the AWS-backed Partner Transformation Program (PTP) to deliver a 100-day roadmap that overhauled technology, security, and scalability aspects of the platform. The plan covered:

  • Completion of the Foundational Technical Review (FTR) for AWS.
  • Drastic reduction in critical and high-priority issues identified during SonarCloud quality and security assessments—a major milestone that significantly improved code reliability and security for Ummia’s platform.
  • Infrastructure modernization and cost optimization using AWS Control Tower, IAM, VPC redesign, and Auto Scaling.
  • Implementation of DevSecOps best practices and robust IaC with CloudFormation.
  • Enhancement of performance using OpenSearch, S3 regional replication, and intelligent caching layers.
  • Deployment of scalable AI solutions leveraging Amazon Bedrock, Lambda, and Amazon CloudWatch, following AWS best practices.

Hardening of application resilience with WAF geo-restrictions, a new Disaster Recovery plan, and stress/penetration testing. Beyond technical execution, this initiative elevated the internal capabilities of the Ummia team. Engineers, product managers, and support staff received training in AWS architecture, DevOps, security practices, and AI operations, laying the groundwork for future growth and independence.
